Graphics Card
Primary GPU is HD5750 which is running
2x DVI 1920x1200 HP LCD
+
1x DP=>DVI=>HDMI=> 1920x1080 EPSON DLP Projector

I would like to add another 17" LCD Display (1024x726) an run all 4 displays at the same time.

So I just bought cheap (10eur) Gigabyte HD3650 512MB, thinking it is also ATI...so it should probably work...but one week later, after numerous BSOD's, I managed for this two cards to work together only with Windows driver  without any Catalyst or AMD graphics drivers. I tried with the latest 13-12_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql and also with 13-9-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql which should be the latest for HD3xxx .
Same thing, different errors. I could not make it work.

So my question is, do I need to buy newer card for second GPU or maybe even something from NVIDIA, just to avoid problems? I Really don't want to spend a lot just to run that extra 17" LCD.

I can still remember the times when I would run 4 NOKIA CRT's with four different GPU's (AGP, PCI, etc...) with no problem at all... )

OTHER SYSTEM INFO follows...:

AMD Catalyst Driver Version, and Driver History
- Catalys uninstalled via control panel, current driver version installed via windows driver update:
(19.4.2011, 8.850.0.0, ATI Tech...)

- 64-bit; Service Pack 1, WIN 7 Ultimate

Issue Details

As stated, only drivers that come with windows works, no CCC, etc...

Motherboard or System Make & Model
- asus deluxe p8z68

Power Supply

- ANTEC 900W or something, strong for the future to come...

Display Device(s) and Connection(s) Used

HD5750;
- 2xDVI to 24" HP LP2465
-
1x DP=>DVI=>HDMI=> to 1920x1080 EPSON DLP Projector

HD3650;
-1xDVI Samsung Syncmaster 152t

Applications and Games
- windows desktop Multimonitor, did not try any gaming...

CPU Details

-i5-2500k 3.3GHz, 4 cores,  no overclock

Motherboard BIOS Version
- latest

System Memory Type & Amount
-
8GB Kingston something..

Additional Hardware
- SSD 120GB Intel, no additional cards, disks..all audio, usb etc. cables unplugged

Additional Details

-same problem with fresh win install from older backup image
- Memtest checked

So my question again is, do I need to buy newer card for second GPU or maybe even something from NVIDIA, just to avoid problems? I Really don't want to spend a lot just to run that extra 17" LCD.

Your input is deeply appreciated!

Thank You, kind regards, u.

Any 5000-series AMD card will work.  So would using an older Catalyst driver, from before 4000-series and below became legacy.

A completely different brand would also work, because there'd be no driver filename conflict.

Newegg has a few 5450 cards for around $30, including one that's $9.99 after a $20 rebate from PowerColor that ends today (the 19th of February).
