Hi I´m sorry if this has been asked before but I am getting conflicting answers about this all over the internet, so if an AMD tech happens to read this... great!

I would like to run 2 xfx r9 290 (the 980Mhz model) in crossfire but nobody seemes to know if this will work on a 850w psu. I do not plan on OC anything and I have an i7 4770 (non k) with 1HDD, 1SSD and 6 fans. The psu is a xfx pro 850

ps: what performance could I expect from crysis 3 in eyefinity 5760x1080  with just one 290 for now? -max settings 40-60fps?

The R9 290 has a TDP of 275w, so two have a TDP of 550w. Add 200w for the rest of the system, and you are still 100w to the good. All XFX PSUs are simply rebadged SeaSonic units and of top quality, so the answer is yes you can run two R9 290 in Crossfire with that PSU.

Awesome! Thanks, you don´t happen to have any stats on crysis 3 in 5760x1080 with those two cards? (not with max AA)
