Specs:CM Storm Trooper/MSI Z87-GD65 Bios version1.9/4770K@4.2ghz 1.18v/H100i/Kingston Beast Ram 32GB@2133mhz/Samsung Evo 250GB/Seagate 3TB/Sapphire R9 295X2/Sound Blaster Z/Corsair 1200i/Samsung U28D590D 3840 x 2160/Corsair K70 Cherry Mx Blues/Razer Naga Hex/Kingston HyperX Cloud Headset. AMD Catalyst 14.6 RC driver/OS Windows 7 Pro.

When i run 2 R9 290X's in crossfire it will freeze. When i run my R9 295X2 it will freeze. When i run it on my MSI GX70 (8970m) it runs fine.
When i run it with my 2 780 ti's in SLI it runs fine.The only thing i haven't tried is a single R9 290X.
It will run anywhere from 10 to 30mins before freezing ,requiring a reboot most times.I even have a clean installed OS on a extra SSD to no avail.Just sharing some information with you guys.

Thanks for the feedback mate.

I just tested  the game myself in crossfirex and had no crash after 30 min.

Forgive me for asking, but do you clean install the amd drivers, or are you installing on top ?

Do you have configured the power limit and target temperature values in CCC ?

Have you monitored your temps ?

I usually do a clean install of the drivers.I've tried it both ways.As for temps i got it set at default in CCC. One of my theories is the 4k resolution. This one is fickle sometimes i can go for a hour of more.At other times i can only last a minute.I also had problems with the cinematics studdering once.I aslo notice that when you walk through a door ,it stuggles for a second, or two loading the next area.Same goes for the 780 ti's,but without ever crashing.

No i mean, are your temps during intense gaming/ load stress any good ?

Are you possibly overheating/ throttled ?

Well, running a game in window mode will only disable crossfirex.

And that wiil really hurt the performance in 4k resolution with some games.

Not to mention the price of that cards the op has .......

You're not going to get it to work otherwise.  There is a readme.txt in the witcher 2 folder that recognizes this as a known issue with radeon cards.  I have had the same problem.

Unfortunately I doubt there's anything else you can do.

Yes, it's a good workaround and thanks for that.

But, i run witcher2 in crossfirex without problems whatsoever.

With the same drivers.

Or do you mean it's a known problem on that resolution (4k) ?

The issue isn't with crossfire.  It's with some Radeon cards

I actually know people with R9 290X cards running the game with no issues.

I've just read all .txt files on the witcher 2 installation folder and all i found was a reference to a possible crossfirex issue. A really old one:
