I've wanted to test drive the new Asus 144Hz monitor but have found nothing solid in reviews.  I was almost ready to make the purchase but then read that AMD graphics cards are not compatable with the Asus Monitor technology, I need a Nvidia card,

Is this correct?

Thanks, Leo

Nothing in the specs indicate that, just the fact the 3d nvidia stuff is supported. Fast responce and 1080p would make a good fit for gaming with high fps. Try contacting ASUS to be sure.

WMudrockJr = Thanks.  That was too easy and I'm embarrassed I didn't do that.  Possibly because I spent so much time moving about the AMD site looking for results, and then going through the exercise to create a ticket, which in the end just dissapeared into cyber space, leaving me frustrated.

That's when I joined this forum, which is a great thing because you gave me the slap I needed.

Thanks again.

Leo

ps. Asus has a chat line, problem solved in about 5 min.  All companies should have chat lines.

Great so I guess you are planning on buying it. Let us know I have 5ms with my ACER with my HD 7850. Works great but I want get three new faster responce monitors for multi-monitoring gaming so 2ms got my eye.

WMudrockJr = Well I'm responding while viewing 144Hz in action.  I've got 14 days to play with it and if I'm not happy and can return it to the store, 5% restocking fee.  The monitor is on sale for $274. which is less expense than my LG now 2 years old.  My LG had a 2ms response and was excellent.

Some people have indicated that they had to tweak the colour etc. but I am happy with it right out of the box.  Catalyst recognized the monitor and the 144Hz without my having to do anything.  I watched the biginning of one movie, which previously had stuttered slightly during an opening seen, but now smooth.  I switched to Theatre mode with one of the control buttons and the picture was amazing.  I'm 67 and my eyes certainly aren't what they use to be so for me this is refreshing (no pun intended).

I game early in the a.m. (I get up around 3:30 a.m.) so over the next few days I'll see how it does with BF3.

For the price I can't see why not to make the purchase.

Well the eyes I can relate to that at 59 mine are not what they used to be either. I appreciate your reply and sounds like it works well. Take care and keep me in the loop.
