This has started happening to me since updating to 14.9 driver - annoyingly I hadn't noted my previous version. 2D is fine, just 3D has dropped, and if I run windowed mode on TMT3 then the discs give the "no supported hardware" message! Oddly too, most of the HD3D content from the AMD site has disappeared?

Article Number: GPU-200

What are the system requirements for HD3D?
??
  • AMD Radeon™ HD5000 series or above graphics card
  • Latest graphics card drivers from the AMD website: www.amd.com/drivers
  • Supported 3D Display with HDMI™ 1.4a, DisplayPort 1.2, or DVI input.
    • 3D glasses are supplied by the display manufacturer: Currently supported displays
    • 3D Middleware software, such as TriDef to convert games that don’t have native 3D support
  • Additional requirements for 3D Blu-Ray movie playback:
    • Blu-ray optical disc drive AMD Radeon HD6000 or above graphics card for Blu-ray 3D playback
    • Blu-ray playback software such as CyberlinkPower DVD 10, Arcsoft or similar
Why do I need to use 3D Middleware?

???3D middleware, such as TriDef, is used to convert games and applications that are not natively 3D ready.
The latest list of stereo 3D games ?shows games that are either natively supported or supported by 3D middleware.

Is there a HD3D set-up guide?

?Yes, there is a PDF download version and an online setup guide.

How do those requirements change with only updating the driver?

Incidentally both the links on that page are dead - PDF one gives 404 and the online setup leads to a page with no reference to 3D.

It's as though it's been hastily abandoned with some forwarders forgotten?

Generally, the rule of thumb is..if it ain't broke don't fix it. Roll back to the drivers you had previously that worked. As you can see...very few complaints with HD3D...I would check your computer for other issues....maybe evn a bad install of the new graphics drivers.

Thanks for the replies, but I have to disagree with you there as what I see are posts being ignored so people having given up rather than any true reflection of issue frequency. 3D is also still likely to be a minority of users, much as I'd rather otherwise

The last possibly working drivers for me (can't recall if I actually used with 3D!) were 13.4 which had serious issues with the sound driver sending what appeared to be resets around every second or so - the recommendation from AMD had been to update - the last definitely working were 13.1 which suffered from poor game performance and infrequent but annoying crashes of all 2D/3D BluRay software only fixed by again driver update. In both of those cases they appeared good at first but after a couple of months the issues started which weren't fixed by reinstall (or even OS reinstall in the latter case), only AMD driver change.

Are there any known to be good for both audio and 3D game and BluRay with the 7950? It's a Sapphire 3GB (Boost version) if that helps?
