Just got a GA-F2A88XXM-HD3 and an A4-5300 for a HTPC. Running XP32 SP3 (cos win7 is a bloated piece of crap!) After new install saw idle system power usage as low as 21W (impressive) after installing the CnQ CPU driver from Gigabyte power usage went up to 43W and there is no sign of clock reduction or voltage drops.
Can't find any new drivers on AMD's horrid web site.
Does anybody know if CnQ is supposed to work on the A88X-Trinity under XP or where to find CPU drivers that might work?
I was going to buy the Intel equivalent because that reviews with power just over 20W.Then I discovered that those idiots don't do any drivers for XP now.
I think we are approaching the time when an ARM Android/Linux PC will be the only sensible choice, MS have lost the plot.
