Just got through building a new computer for my brother with an A8-6500 Richland and the graphics are terrible under windows 7 or windows 8. Under windows 7 the Aero experience is 1.0 and the 3D gaming experience is 1.0 which is a sign that the graphics driver is not right. Help what do I do?

Really not enough info being supplied. Look at the stick before posting.

You should be probally using the beta 13.6 CCC.

Computer specs: Gigabyte GA-F2A55M-DS2, Team Extreme Dark 2 X 4GB, A8-6500 Richland, 2 X Seagate 1 TB Harddrive, LG Blu-ray Burner, Avermedia PCI-Express TV tuner card.

On windows 7 there is no Windows Aero, no 3D. Media Center will not function, and generates an error that says that it requires 3D acceleration to function.

Between the two posts hope you have enough info to tell me what to do.

Just in case I have downloaded 13.6 CCC because I am not sure which version is on it now

Windows 7 there is no Aero and still no 3D with 13.6 CCC

Windows 8 everything is fine with 13.6 CCC

With my brothers permission I raided the two hard drives and installed Windows 8.

It maybe that older OS are not yet supported with Richland. Maybe you should open a Ticket to report older OS not having driver support.

I have cut ties with XP and 7. I only lost the ability to play some older games which the graphics suck anyway.

Most people are talking BS bere. Just installed a A10-6700 myself, also a Richland. Upgraded from a A10-5800K (Trinity)

I had Catalyst 13.4 installed on Windows 8 x64, but it didnt work properly. An error about a missing license and low res graphics,

In short:

- The drivers, which came with your motherboard are outdated anyways. Just don't install.

- Windows will always install a stock VGA driver, so you should have a picture

For Richland you need the 13.6 beta 2 drivers, which AMD is hiding on their website. Just google for Catalyst 13.6 beta 2.

Saw you have Windows 7. Should work fine.

Windows 7 with 13.6 beta 2 Catalyst had no aero effects and no 3D acceleration. When starting apps that required 3D they always generated errors, with windows 7. That is the reason why I combined the two hard drives by raiding them and then installed windows 8 alone on the combined two hard drives.

Could someone give a link to the correct part of AMD's website to open a ticket, please.
