Because they don't use the onboard graphics, so it is not X-Fire at all.

I'm sorry, but could you please point me where in the link you posted it stated that the A10-6800k "works in CrossFire-X mode" with the included GPU (either 8970M/7970M)????..

AFAIK, that laptop seems to have a "dedicated" GPU that isn't working in "CF-X mode" with the GPU on the A10...

That being said, you could run an APU with a dedicated GPU without any issues, no matter the model of the GPU integrated into the CPU, as long as you don't try to enable CF-X.. To enable CF-X, you must have one of the GPUs listed to do it..

Best regards...

EDIT: woa, seems that Mudrock and I are some kind of ninjas...

but i do hear the later driver version might support X-Fire for APU and GPU combo.

Probably.. But with a specific number of models...

Best regards...

seem to me that the A10-6800K X-Fire ability is still stuck to using the old HD6670 GPU and some manage to get the HD7750 to work with it

if there is no official support for using a high end GPU to X-Fire

could anyone explain why MSI have this combo in a laptop?

A10-5750 with a HD8970M GPU

Thanks

i see what you mean

above link is a benchmark of a similar AMD powered MSI notebook

using HD7970

you may be right it running only GPU

but i do hear the later driver version might support X-Fire for APU and GPU combo.

I would skip an APU, if you plan on getting a high-end gpu.
