Is there any way to update drivers with this APU? I have tried every thing imaginable and the recommended drivers completely fail and do not install, leaving me with a broken CCC.

Here's my dxdiag:

Any help would be appreciated.

Since you have an ASUTek Computer Model CM1745 you need to go to the ASUS Web site and download ATI VGA Driver Ver8.892.10 which supports your HD7470.

Uninstall anything that you have already tried, and boot your system. Then install the drivers from ASUS.

Website is WWW.ASUS.COM/US/ click on support. Then the DOWNLOAD drivers. Enter your CM1745 follow by OS. Scroll down to VGA there you will find what you need.

I will check back to see if you are good to go.

I've already done this, but the drivers that are being installed are close to a year old. You mean these are the only compatable drivers for this system? When installing these, the driver date in Device Manager is 8/28/2012.

Well it looks that way, if you look at the release notes for 13.1 which you tried to install the 7470 is not supported.

I had an A8-5500 which I upgraded to a A10-5800K which has the HD 7660D which is supported by 13.4. The next release which is due out at the end of the month it may not be.

I currently have my onboard graphics disable because I'm using a discrete HD 7850 card with 13.6 beta 2. I had a need for more graphic power than the onboard could supply.

So does your system work? The reason for most people to upgrade is that they are having a problem and release there are upgrading to has the fix.

If there is to be an update for your 7470 onboard it will probally come via ASUS.

Well I particularly have been playing SWTOR, and the game randomly freezes, and I think it may be due to drivers, but wasn't sure. The game FPS wise is fine, I can play on high settings with no lag, but all of a sudden the game will randomly freeze and crash to desktop for no reason at all. Making it kind of unplayable, even though it doesn't lag.

Most of the games that I have played with my old A8-5500 where mostly DirectX 9c based like Halo, and NFS versions.

After upgrading to the A10-5800K I played BioShock and TombRaider at modest settings with no lag. After installing the 7850 I can play at Highest settings with no lag.

I have had issues with NFS World hanging up and crashing at times. This could be the same issue that you are having to. Most online games like that which are free will have bugs and crashes. So getting it fixed may not be in the cards or near future.

Waiting till 2014 Q1 to see what the Kaveri APU brings to the table. It will require a new FM2+ motherboard but it should be faster than the Richland version.
