I just purchased a brand new AMD A10-7850K APU (Kaveri), ASUS A88XM-A Motherboard, 2x4gb (8GB) G skill 2133mhz ripjaw RAM and Windows 8.1.

I put everything together and its working pretty well and its pretty fast. However, I installed two of my favourite games - Planetside 2 and Firefall.

Both the games have launchpads and after I launch from each respected launchpad, I crash then get an error message. The error messages are different for each. Here they are:

For Firefall I get:

"Failed to create Direct3D Depth Buffer.

If this problem persists, please make sure your graphics card meets the minimum specifications to run the game."

For Planetside 2 I get:

G25 error. (Brings me to the website with this error).

Also, It says something like failed to constructdisplay3d in the address bar along with the g25 error.

This is silly because I know the A10 7850K can run Firefall and Planetside 2 decently. I mean I was running the games on my old Intel E8400 (3.0ghz), ATI Raedon HD 4890, 4GB of RAM and Windows 7 setup before.

So what problems are causing this?

PS - YES I HAVE DOWNLOADED ALL DRIVERS EVERYTHING IS UP TO DATE. EVEN A NEW BIOS FOR MY ASUS MOTHERBOARD (V. 1003 I believe). Its getting real frustrating so please help. I also need this new computer for school work.

I have almost the same configuration as you, and I can't even get windows to load in dual channel mode.  Try taking out one stick of ram and trying again.

Hello. I have the same config (6 Go of G.skill Ripjaws 1600mhz)

Last bios, last drivers, but only 3.44 Go RAM avaible in windows property

Where are other 2.66 Go ? Shared for APU ? i don't know ...

The A88XM A and A10-7850k are not friend ...

update) i have been scouring the internet and actually contacted a few people who have this system configuration in a stable scenario.  The only correlation i've found is that it crashes with Windows, NOT in linux or SteamOS.

The issue appears to be with some default windows driver that doesnt work with the a88xm-a / a10-7850k combo.

I have a A10-7850K with a Asus A88XM-A motherboard too. It hasnt been the best launch for a flagship CPU (APU), drivers aren't mature yet even tho the hardware has been launched. I cant get AMD Overdrive to work on my system = instant reboot.

So I guess we have to wait for better drivers...
