Some people will cringe at the thought of a APU, I have not regretted the purchase of a APU. It was cost effective and powerfiul enough to play most of the games and run all my applications like Visual Studio 2013, Office 2013.
As far as a GPU goes it really depends on what you plan on doing. If you are going to play games like BF4, BioShock, and any future more demanding games go big. You have a choice of R9-270X, R9-280X, R9-290 and R9-290X. Each steping up in price, processors, memory and just plan power consumption. Just get a good PSU to supply the power and you will not regret the choice.
My next APU will be a A10-7850K with a R9-280X or R9-290 as the GPU because it is middle of the road in price but offers good performance.
