I'm at a loss here, guys. I have no idea what else it could be. I'm hoping you guys have an idea.

My entire PC seems to run just fine doing anything else. Anything. Except when I load up a game. Seconds after it launches, my computer shuts down and I hear a beep or buzzing sound (nothing bad, I think it's a safety measure) and my power light blinks.

Could I not have enough power for the APU? Does my board not like the APU? I've reinstall my OS in order to make sure all drivers are up-to-date and nothing may be overlapping.

Any ideas?

Make sure you have latest Catalyst 14.2 installed. Check your voltages and temperatures using HWMonitor from http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor/versions-history.html. It also helps running CPU-Z and GPU-Z simultaneously and observe what happens with CPU and iGPU portions when you launch a game.

Also try disabling Turbo in BIOS. I have a Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN-WIFI Rev 3.0 motherboard with the latest F4b BIOS and it would not be stable for the life of it unless I disable the Turbo in BIOS. Amount of Turbo doesn't matter even if it's multiplier matches the base multiplier but Turbo is enabled in BIOS, it would not be stable.

  • APU: AMD A10-7850K OC (CPU @ 4.0GHz Turbo disabled, iGPU @ 960MHz, NB @ 1900MHz, VIDs @ Auto)

  • RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3-2400 AMD Radeon R9 Gamer R9316G2401U2K (Dual Rank DIMMs) @ AMP 2400MT/s 1.65V with manual optimizations: 11-12-11-27-1 (tCL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS-CR), 37-313-8-16-9-9-29 (tRC-RFC-tRRD-tWR-tWTR-tRTP-tFAW), 15 (AOD: DcqBypassMax)

  • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN-WIFI Rev 3.0, F4b BIOS

  • Memtest86+ overnight stable
