Hi all,

i've just bought a small computer with AMD APU A4 and Radeon HD7400G. Everything is working kind of okay but i've lot of problem trying to open MKV files 1080P. The CPU is going to 100% and the framerate of the movies is terrible.

I've tried with VLC and all the movies are doing this problem while with Klite coded pack and Media Player Classic 98% of the movies are working with LAV decoder but still issue with few heavy MKVs.

i was trying to figure out why it's giving me all this issue mainly because it should be decoded in hardware by the GPU.

The Decoder listed in VLC, Media Player and XBMC are:

DIVAX

DIVAX2

LAV

I'm not sure that there should be something "proprietary" amd like
UVD.

My System :

Sapphire Edge VS4

Windows 8.1 Update 1 64Bit

HD SSD

16GB Ram Corsair Venegance

Latest Official Catalyst

With your setup, it has to play flawlessly. Also the latest VLC / XBMC with DXVA 2 enabled should play ANY MKV 1080p flawlessly.

i have an old AMD E-450 and I play any video file / online flash video up to 1080p completely smooth. I even play BLURAY 50 mbit/s 1080p well. Only 3D movies are garbage...
