Hello All,

I recently bought a new laptop. the MSI GX70 Destroyer. It has the A10-5750M processor and the R9 290X in it. I was disappointed in it when i first got it. In the game Wildstar which recently came out i was only able to run everything on ultra low settings at 25 fps. With 16gb of RAM and and extremely new GPU i figured the CPU was what was causing my framerate issues. I ended up going into the catalyst control center and saw power saving was essentially enabled for everything. So in those setting i went to cpu power and set it to run at a minimum of 2.5ghz whether plugged in or on battery. So having Overdrive downloaded i went in to look and was shocked to see the CPU speed at 3.5ghz. The laptop isn't running extremely hot and has seemed to plateaued a bit. But a whole 1.0ghz of improvement? I am not sure this is normal and wanted to know if i need to go change that minimum setting back and if i should be worried. I am able to run everything on Wildstar currently on ultra settings at 30 fps so this is a huge improvement. Thanks for all your feedback.

The A10-5750M has a regular clock speed of 2.5GHz and a turbo speed of 3.5GHz. So what you are seeing is normal and doesn't have anything to do with the settings you changed.
