I have been using the ATI Firepro 2450 graphics card for a couple of years now to run 4 monitors. I recently bought two new LG E2242 monitors and got them up and running no problem. However, I noticed that waves appeared on the screen. I understand this is because I am using VGA cables, and that DVI cables would solve this problem.

I got hold of some DVI-I cables and plugged them in but the monitors no longer work. I get the following message up on screen 'D-Sub Power Saving Mode'. If I switch back to my VGA cables then all is OK.

I was wondering if the issue is that I am using DVI-I cables. Should I be using DVI-A cables? I have just noticed that the VGA to DVI adapters I received with the graphics card are DVI-A adapters. Therefore, does this graphics card only work with DVI-A cables or should it not make a difference whether they are DVI-A, DVI-D or DVI-I?

If not, then does anyone know of a solution please?
