When running VRC-Pro (rc car simulation, www.vrcworld.com) the fps rate is very slow around 35fps.

HOWEVER if SOLIDWORKS 2012 (3D design software) is running at the same time AND a big assembly is loaded then the fps increases to around 230!

This behaviour is reproducable. If SOLIDWORKS is closed it drops back to 35fps.

(Actually it's enough to just close the file opened by SOLIDWORKS)

Any clues how to get VRC-Pro running fast WITHOUT running solidworks...?
