Need to pick some expert brains here:
I need to set up a wall full of 4K displays, and wondered what card & machine can run multiple 4K monitors. They are for still images so refresh rate is unimportant - I guess 30Hz would be fine. maybe use a FirePro W600 for 6 monitors via EyeFinity? Or even put two W600 cards in one machine and run 12? (I need about 20-24 monitors, each with its own still image). The computer will be purpose built for this, and not used for anything else, so its all up for grabs.
I'd like to run as many displays as possible from as few machines as possible. Any ideas how to do this? Each screen will have a single image on it, some vertical, some horizontal. One thing worrying me is maximum lead length of Display Port 1.2, as some will be further away than others, of course.
Alternatively, I could daisy chain them through Thunderbird 2, from a TB2 motherboard, IF a TB2 connected 4K display existed. But it doesn't, afaik. or... I could use a single macbook Air or Haswell Tablet for each display, as the newest onchip graphics supports 4K, but thats seems a little wasteful.
In a dream world Google would come out with a 4K ChromeCast, so no leads would be needed! but... I don't think thats happening anytime soon.
All suggestions welcome, Thanks!
