I have a Dell M4600 laptop issued by my employer in 2012. Since my job requires me to frequently use Solidworks and Adobe CS, it has decent specs:

Intel Core i5-2520M @ 2.50Ghz 64 bit

AMD FirePro M5950 with 1GB Memory

For nearly two years I've been able to work with it fine, while playing games pretty smoothly up until about a weeks ago, when some mysterious thing happened that all my games and software suddenly slow down and became choppy.

Here is a list of games that are (likely) affected:

Guild Wars 2 (FPS dropped below 20, it was usually 50-60 before)

Minecraft (something changed about the graphics that I feel motion sickness from it now, which is new).

Simcity (haven't checked the effect)

Simcity 4 (haven't checked the effect)

Battlefield 3 (haven't checked the effect)

My question is, was there a major driver update? Or is it something wrong with my settings (I've already tried restoring everything to default)?

I am a little at loss on this, where should I start looking for a fix?
