I want to configure a multi monitor setup with 5 monitors under linux (RedHat 5.3) with a fixed monitor count.

The card should initialize all 5 connectors, independent of the existance of an phsically connected display.

The adding or replacement of monitors shouldn't affect the big desktop output.

Example of required behaviour:

I start the computer with 3 connected monitors. Later I add 2 other montors without restarting of the computer / X. The added monitors should be added to the big desktop.

In the manual of the aticonfig there exists the "--force-monitor" option (http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Aticonfighelp), that should allow the above wished behaviour.

The latest driver version (catalyst pro driver 9.033) doesnt' provide this option any more.

Does there exists another way to reach this behaviour (forcing of monitors)?

I'm using the lastest catalyst pro driver (9.033) on an AMD W600 graphic card. All monitors are connected via Display Port.
