I have Notebook HP Pavilion 15-E039TX
with graphics card: AMD Mobility Radeon HD 8670M (as they claim)
In Linux Mint 13 Maya ( Probably based on Ubuntu 12.04)
when I do: lspci
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Ivy Bridge Graphics Controller (rev 09)
01:00.0 Display controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Device 6660
That means I have switchable graphics.
In windows both are working fine.
One mistry is that device number is not matching, 8670M vs 6600
And in Linux mint I want to install RADEON graphics card driver ( because I think currently only intel graphics card is in use )
I have to use AMD RADEON one which is more powerful (I think so).
From this page I downloaded driver : http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx
Then when I run: ./amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13-4-x86.x86_64.run
It displays blank gui like this:
Where I can not see any thing written to proceed.
Then I did this: sudo sh ./amd-driver-installer-12-4-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg Ubuntu/precise
and then: sudo dpkg -i fglrx*.deb
no error, all ok
and then I did: sudo aticonfig --initial -f
aticonfig: No supported adapters detected
