Dear AMD!

I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 1 GB DDR3. I don't use my vga card 3D power and hardware acceleration with Ubuntu 13.10 and 13.04. I install this driver: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=Legacy2&os=Linux%20x86_64  but does not work work. I try install with Ubuntu 13.04 and 13.10 x86 and x64 platform. I can not play 3D games my card and I can not convert with hardware acceleration. Please make a new driver for Ubuntu 13.10 or 14.04.

Thanks for your response, greetings: János Tamás.

Read driver support carefully.  I have totally lost LINUX support for 3000 series graphics.  AMD no longer supports it as it appears LINUX x-windows graphics software interface to GRAPHICs drivers has changed and AMD finds no profit in re-writing the driver for older GRAPHICS standards.

I am facing the smae thing and only options are to buy a new case with a larger power supply (400+) and install agraphics card.  My implementation is in support of a Home Theatre PC so low power consumption was tantamount to my configuration (low power CPU {under 100w}, graphics on MB, Green HD) case only has 300w PS.

I am screwed.
