My system was working, only temp was broke when 1 of 4 cards decided to fail.

Since I switched out the card, nothing works. xinit locks the computer up.

coinbox2 ~ # fglrxinfo

Error: unable to open display (null)

but;
coinbox2 ~ # aticonfig --list-adapters
* 0. 01:00.0 Supported device 67B1
  1. 04:00.0 Supported device 67B1
  2. 05:00.0 Supported device 67B1
  3. 06:00.0 Supported device 67B1
I reinitialized the xorg.conf, but I immediately notice it drops the cards;
coinbox2 ~ # aticonfig --adapter=ALL --initial
Found fglrx primary device section
Using /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Saving back-up to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.fglrx-18
What did I miss?

I have tried both the Gentoo fglrx drivers and the fglrx-13.35.1005 drivers.
The drivers seem to load fine, but nothing can reach the resources such as fglrxinf

The ati proprietary driver for linux are complete bull*****. Someone needs to fire an engineer.

Slapped on win8 and all headaches disappeared.

Got smoked by winblows, how pathetic can you get.
