Hi!
I plan to gather high-performance PCs using AMD r290\280\270 and I have a question: What is the maximum amount of AMD can run on Linux? Are there any restrictions in the drivers on the number of chips/cards in the system? Or maybe Linux does not support more than a certain number GPU's?

You can run a maximum of 4 GPUs as far as I know. However, there is no demanding game for linux yet, so only one r9 card is more than enough.

Well, if your intention is not gaming, you're probably at the wrong place on a gaming forum, aren't you?

I would have thought the limit was the number of slots in the machine. In ye olde times, I run linux systems with three different video cards.

So your question is really which is the hardware that is supported by linux with the maximum number of slots. Answer, specialised e-coin miners(?).

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a Linux distro that supports render farms out there already.

A simple web search should turn up quite a few relevant links.
