I have a vanilla install of Ubunu and the latest AMD proprietary driver connected to a 1080p television over HDMI. The system boots just fine with the TV on, however if the system boots with the TV off, or if the TV is turned off after boot, when the TV is turned on there's no picture.

I've spent a day going over the xorg and lightdm logs, and I've not been able to determine where the problem lies.

Here's the basic information about the display.
