I have Lenovo G505s with amd A10 processor. It has switchable graphic card 8650G (512 mb) + 8750M (2GB). Whenever i boot into ubuntu 13.10, It shows a a blank screen with a dialog box saying "graphic mode not supported. Check graphic device/driver"

I ran some tests, 8650G dirvers were installed and drivers for 8750M werent present.

I tried installing latest beta for linux, but it didnt work. So are there graphics drivers for 8750m( there wasnt any in the linux driver bundle, so im assuming NO), if NO then by when should i expect them?(Many users are struggling from this issue, there is a huge crowd posting about this issue on ubuntu forums lately, i guess im the 1st here.)

Thanks,

adap

Have you asked at the AMD driver download page?

Also try reading past similar threads on this device with various other cards to see what they have done and tried.

Yes,

Also have i tried reaching them through mails. I havent recieved any reply yet. Amd seems to be quiet shy on releasing their development reports.

Hello, the problem is this: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73530

It solved on the 3.14 kernel, but the ati drivers not support this kernel version yet.

There really is no need for fglrx on a laptop. You need no crossfire or eyefinity support and openoffice runs fine on the opensource driver as well.
