Hello,

i upgraded my PC to Kubuntu 14.04 yesterday, and i found out the linux_64_bit_driver is not compatible with this version

Only the open source radeon driver works with these legacy cards. However, performance should be great with such card.

You must use latest legacy driver. You can use free driver too, but if you need opencl, then legacy is best choise

Except that the current legacy driver isn't compatible with any up-to-date Linux distro. And the open source driver is horrifyingly slow, even the newest Mesa 10.1 version and kernel version 3.13. While I could play Portal 2 beautifully smooth on Ubuntu 12.04 with Legacy Catalyst 13.1, it's almost unplayable with the open source driver on Ubuntu 14.04. Frame rate is stutteringly low, even with the lowest Portal 2 video settings, and mouse response is a full second behind. This is unacceptable and AMD really needs to get their butts in gear and update their legacy driver. They did for Windows, why not for us?! Not cool, AMD!
