sorry for my bad english it's not my first language

i use ubuntu 14.04
i have dell inspiron 5520 and when installing the driver beta or the stable this message appears
"your graphics adapter is not supported by this driver .installation not proceed."
but it worked well before on 13.10 but there is problem also when new kernel arrives the x stop working and crash all the gui stop working just terminal only

Unfortunately the 14.x branch of fglrx is very buggy. Even I have issues with it and I have an ancient video card... (OpenGL threading issues.)

If you don't want to play games, stick to open source drivers (they are better in every way except for gaming performance). If you really need the gaming power, you'll need to use something older than 14.x, which also requires using an older kernel, which probably also requires using an older distro.
