Hi there,

Here's what I did.

  1. I downloaded the Catalyst 14.6 Linux drivers.
  2. Started the graphical installation.
  3. Selected generate package for distribution and chose Trusty Tahr

It ended up "kinda" installing after that. Checking the ati logs afterwards gives me:

./amd_dcm64: No supported adapters detected

Laptops are always supported by the manufacturer, not AMD. If they don't have drivers, it's not supported.

However, it might still work. Try the direct approach, I've never seen package generating working. Just select install, and see what happens. Don't forget to have compiling/building tools, kernel headers etc. on your system.
