Is there any trick to getting eyefinity to work in games on Linux?

I have a 7870 using the latest catalyst drivers from the xorg-edgers ppa in Ubuntu 14.04 (also first tried the version ubuntu installs as the proprietary driver in it's own repo), I have a triple head desktop working just fine, and it's all in a single screen (ie not using multiple xservers, no xinerama, I can drag windows from monitor to monitor, etc.), but if I start a game in full screen, it will default to whatever monitor is set as primary by xrandr and the largest resolution reported by the game will be only the ones which that monitor supports.

There isn't an eyefinity section in the catalyst control center, which I think is by design, so I've been assuming all I need to do is setup a bog standard triple head setup, but I just can't get games to be aware that they can span the length of the xorg screen. I've been using Unity for the moment, but also gave twm a shot just to get the window manager out of the way.

Games I've tried so far are Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Serious Sam 3 and Half-Life (which might not support eyefinity anyway). I know Amnesia 2 does eyefinity in Windows, and seems to be rendering correctly, so that has been what I've been mostly concentrating on for testing this. I really feel like I'm missing something obvious here.

Thanks.
