now that i have a dual slot board I have options I did not have last year.

what options for crossfire does AMD offer for boosting game performance like Metro 2033

I play at 1920x1080 and Metgro 2033, Crysis 2 etc are the usual suspects for game play.

Looking at a review for a CFX HD 7770 come up below my requirements

A pair of GTX 660s looked powerful, anything in this performance range that can perk up games?

I would start with a comparison using benchmarks > http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

Intel I7 960 @ 3.87ghz *Intel DX58SO *HIS HD6970 2gb *Corsair TX650M *2x4gb Corsair XMS3 *WD Black 1TB *Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit *Gateway HD2401 24" 2ms 1920x1200  ***Asus N71Jq laptop *Intel I7 720QM Processor *Mobility Radeon HD5730 1gb *8gb Ram *Windows 7 64bit

That list is nice but it seems to be all single card setups

my board has 2 slots to feed and I was thinking of a dual card to get ahead of games

I assumed you wanted to compare AMD card performance vs the Nvidia GTX   ""A pair of GTX 660s looked powerful, anything in this performance range that can perk up games? "" The tests give you that info...then you buy two..I guess. I wish AMD would have left the "crossfire" forum intact...it makes it easy to see all the problems with crossfire and sli....and they aren't going away.

2-way setups are rare and 3-way even rarer, probably why they nuked a perfectly good topic

I have looked at a lot of reviews, so many I have lost count

I am price sensitve like world+dog but I am not loyal to any video card vendor, best bang for my $ always gets a deal

Getting Google to work for me, I noticed HD 7770 cards in CFX can deliver some excellent results @ 1920x1080

Metro 2033 is even up to over 60 fps

Wonder how well Battlefield 4 will run. That game's mimimum is a GT 520 which is a real basic card.

I know crossfireing looks sexy and everything but its more of a pain than its worth.

You double the power you use

you double the noise and heat

But you don't get double the performance.

But its up to you, personly I would go for one 7950 over two 7770"s any day

I see the 7850s are a drastic improvement in performance

The 7770 is about as powerful as the GTX 260 I have now
