Hello

My current motherboard is a Gigabyte pa ud4 with Intel chipset 1156 and PCI Express 2.0.

The R7 and R9 card series are PCI Express 3.0 cards.

Are those good compatible with my motherboard?

Is it smart to upgrade from a HD5770 to a R7/R9 card without upgrading the motherboard?

Thanks!

PCI Express is backwards compatible to previous generations.

Would there be a great loss of performance using PCI Express 2 for those cards?
