Sorry for the lengthly post. Thanks for your patience if you read through it.

Hey guys. So, being the age that I am, I haven't had much time on my hands to research and learn about computer parts. I built a gaming computer last year, and the Graphics card that I was given advice on was a Radeon HD 7770, which has suited me well, but... You know. Why not have better?

Anyway; If you've got the time, I was hoping someone with experience in the background of graphics cards could help me out.

I'll post my current computer specs below.

  Motherboard: ASUS M5 A97 R2.0

       Processor: AMD FX- 4100 Quad-Core Processor ~ 3.6GHz

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

 Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2 ATX 12V 2.3 600W

                  OS: Windows 8 64-bit (DirectX 11) (Upgrading to 8.1)

                RAM: 8Gb

Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda (1 Terrabyte)

Anyway. If you're an employee at AMD and your job is to sell me the top price card, or for some other reason you're trying to get me to buy the most pricey tech, please leave. I have to work for every penny that I use to get the component.

So, I just want to be able to play modern games like BF4 at Ultra Quality, and be able to watch HD video/Edit it. I plan on recording gameplay aswell.

Well, what would be the best graphics card for me? I went to microcenter today and was advised that the 270x or 280x (Rereleases of the Radeon HD series, supposedly better) would be good for me; but I wanted to do more research. Keep in mind I have to find work to get the money, so, I'm hopefully looking for around or under the $200 range.

If you were able to read throught that all, Thanks. And greater thanks if you can respond.

Regardless, if you made it down here, have a great day.

If it were me...I would wait awhile on the Rseries cards until the bugs are worked out. Read through the forum and see for yourself. That said, they are the wave of the near future and will 'future proof' your rig for awhile.

PS: USMC 63-66

200$ BF4 on ultra. Thats not going to happen unless you play at some really low resolution.

The only thing thats going to fit in that price range is a R270, or R270X. (Both are modified 7870 cards)

But still offer awesome price > performance ratio.

Otherwise if you can find one, a 7950 boost, or R280X.
