Hello,

I'm looking to help my son to purchase/build/upgrade a gaming specific desktop on a very slim budget. As I see it, the total budget will be aprox. $200nzd.

We've located several candidates on an online listing and the most interesting ad reads:

CPU: AMD PHENOM ii X 4 840 3.2GHZ AM2+/AM3 SOCKET
RAM: 2GB DDR3
HDD: 500GB SATA
Motherboard: ASUS M4N68T-M V2
graphic: ATI RADEON HD4350 1GB PCIE CARD installed

My ?s; This processor seems fast enough and fairly regarded for gaming, is this true?

I've also read that the GPU in gaming is critical, what would be a good match for this processor?

I recon that the easiest and least expensive upgrade will be bump ram to 4gb.

Any sugestions?

$ is severely limited which is why we've taken the approach of buying a good used processor/mb/case for pennies on the dollar and then upgrade to suit [GPU/RAM/cooling...]

Thanks
