Had water leak, then ceiling crashes = water damage to my -

XPS 8300 Intel Core i7-2600 processor(8MB Cache, 3.4GHz) 8GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz - 4x2GB  --- AMD Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3 ---  X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCIe

MB has only one PCIe 16 slot, but does have room for dual fan card.

After drying for 3 days with dehumidifier and fans, I ran Dell's system checks and all checked out. But a problem is still showing up. I have ran a monitor by my recliner for years along with a 73" TV,  using AMD CCC. After the ceiling leak my computer will not send a signal to (hdmi) TV. Monitor (dvi) is ok.

My wife's computer has no problems, nor does my blu-ray player in sending a signal. After much research, cable replacing and testing I believe the problem is in the power supply and or graphics card. I now understand that a PSU will loose watts as time goes buy. The Dell XPS 8300 uses only a 460 watt PS. I have purchased a 750 watt modular PS that will be in this Tuesday. It will take some mods to the case to install but should work fine.

The hdmi out on the HD 6450 will work on a short cable but not on the long run that I have. Probably the low power.

What would be a good replacement for the HD 6450? I do run two accounts of eve-online at the same time, and I frequently run Eve or edit pictures at the same time I Stream a movie (wife watching a movie and me playing eve or 42-online). One Problem with the HD 6450 was that when playing or streaming 2 things at once (25" monitor and 73" Mitsubishi) I need to play eve on performance mode (low quality).  It would be nice to run at peak quality while running both characters.

I would like to keep money below $300.

Well there's the Radeon R7 240 which is a little over twice as powerful as the 6450 for around $50. But for a gaming card, on Newegg there's the popular R9 270X for around the $175 mark, and is over 12X as powerful as the 6450.

Thank you for your help -  I have been looking at the R9 270x. What is the quality/performance difference between the 2gb and 4gb?

I would go ahead and spend the extra $25 on the 4GB version myself.
