Why does AMD make it close to impossible to find SB drivers on their website?  They've got this nice facility to find graphics drivers...but if you want chipset drivers, like for a southbridge...you're kinda screwed.

I had to go spelunking on this forum to find a link to chipset drivers a bit ago...again.  And you can't say "just get it from the mobo manufacturer site" and be valid - they frequently don't have the latest drivers there, and/or the mobo may have been deprecated from their website if it's a few years old, so on and so forth.

By that logic, why should AMD provide graphics drivers - just go get them from the video card company.

Try searching for RaidXPERT too on the AMD website...all you'll get is a link to a .pdf.  You have to know the magic URL to get that too.

So...what the eff AMD?  Why do you make it so hard for people to use your products?

...that makes infinitely more sense than AMD making it nearly impossible to download their drivers.

And the fact that there's been no AMD response to a simple, reasonable question.

Besides the RaidXpert, which you can get from the motherboard's manufacturer's website (ASUS and Gigabyte, for two, still have downloads for very old boards), or request them in their forums, what is it you want? USB, AHCI, and RAID drivers are included in the Catalyst suite. But really...

Windows 7, 8, 8.1 32 and 64 bit chipset and RAID drivers, and AMD Raid Xpert. Not hard to find.

On the contrary - that's impossible to find if you don't know that URL to start with.  If you don't know to type that URL in, and try to find those drivers from just starting at www.AMD.com, you won't find them.

If you want to prove me wrong, please go to www.AMD.com and note all the steps one should do in order to get to those downloads using the options that are presented to the user on the website.  Show me that there's a way to get to http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows+7+-+64 by using the AMD website like a normal person would.

And as noted above, telling people to get them from the mobo manufacturer is pretty bad advice.  Even if they're available on their website after a couple years, there's very high likelihood that they're not the latest versions...or even recent versions.  People come to the AMD website to download the latest drivers for their video cards...why make it essentially impossible to do so for everything else?

Yes, I have to agree - a search on the AMD/support site shows nothing useful:

http://search.amd.com/en-us/Pages/results-all.aspx#k=AMD Chipset Drivers

.. and there are no chipset drivers from Gigabyte.. never seen them!

Amd is a lille bit gaga in this regards!

Thanks for taking the time b_z but these files are outdated and already included in the Catalyst driver installation hence nothing will be installed except for 2 MS VB updates.

I would assume the real chipset driver contains different files and is not just a copy of the CCC driver!?

Nope, the chipset drivers on AMDs page include exactly what is in the full Catalyst package without any graphics drivers:

AMD Catalyst Install Manager
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redist
NULL Driver for AMD IOMMU Devices
AMD SATA AHCI Driver

I downloaded the latest one on AMD's site and no new files were found to update.

Meaning the chipset driver is just for non AMD graphic card users hence defying sense for Catalyst users as it's all included!?

Hmmkay!

And it includes the RAID drivers if you have a RAID setup, but yea, nVidia users should just use the drivers on the motherboard's CD.

Hello!

Well just so you know I think it sucks also, but after reading the thread i went one by one and find the way just so you know!!!

Step 1: Integrated motherboar graphics

Step 2: AMD 9-Series Chipset

Step 3: All Chipsets

Step 4: select O.S

You are good to go!
