Hi

I just bought HP Pavilion 15 e055-ej

Intel‎‎ Core‎‎ i7-4702MQ 2.2GHZ Haswell

‎8 GB DDR3 RAM

AMD Radeon HD 8670M 2GB DDR3

Windows 8 64 Bit.

I trying to play some games such as Crysis 2, BF3, NFSMW and the performance are really bad. This computer should run those games in ultra settings and I cant even play them on medium! I downloaded the latest drivers the official and the beta both and still no changes. at dxdiag and canyourunit.com It shows me that my graphics is Intel HD Graphics 4600.

I cant understand what's can be the problem.

Hope you will help me guys, thanks. isgust;

Read 'updating Mobility drivers' in the LAPTOP forum.

http://forums.amd.com/game/categories.cfm?catid=448&flcache=3617797&entercat=y

Get your drivers from the laptop vendor...those graphics are OEM only. You can't use the generic drivers from AMD.

You really think a 8670M With DD3 Should run BF3 , and Crysis 2 on ultra? Please tell me you are joking. When it comes to mobility cards, that card is mediocre at best.

Stumped, i removed intel graphics driver and radeon both and installed the drivers from hp site. the results are wrost than was with the new beta amd graphics driver.

Vantharas- I saw much bad laptops then mine playing those games on ultra. why should I buy the new i7-haswell core with dedicated graphics card such as one from the latest cards- 8670 with 2gb of memory!!! and both of them cannot run those games? if the situation is like that, i should buy an dual core cheap laptop? why this good laptop exsits if i cant play some games with it? I know i can run those games it's just the point of the exact driver or os. why those graphics cards exists for laptops? intel graphics hd will be enough for daily use.

and if you can, watch this video that shows Radeon 7670M 2gb ddr3 runs bf3 in ultra settings with toshiba laptop without any new haswell core like i have: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmmP_2lmy5c

Ok First off, Empty maps, Second, It wasn't on ultra, It was a custom graphics setting. Perhaps you should read legitimate review sites before someone post some video on youtube on empty maps.

I don't understand why you would watch a youtube video of some random person who literally cherry picks his settings and his environment to get a point across.

Yes, BF3 will run on that card on Ultra, Right up until stuff starts happening. Then you can expect massive FPS drops, and frame rate studdering as that card struggles to keep up.

Here are the actual realistic expectations of BF3 on a 7670M
low:
32.5 ~ 42 fps
med.:
23.1~ 26 fps
high:
19~ 22 fps
ultra:
7.1  fps

Notebookcheck, actually benchmarks the game like you would actually playing it. Not on an empty maps with absolutely *nothing* going on. What I posted there are realastic expectations of what you will get.

Not some "horrid" youtube video with cherry picked maps, and settings. With absolutely nothing going on.
Now with that being said, the 8670M scores a few FPS higher in BF3. Since its basically the same card with high clock speeds.
My Nvidia 460M Is alot more powerful then your 8670M, and it struggles with Ultra settings on BF3.

But I mean if you really think that card should be able to run BF3 on ultra, and you want to believe some random cherry picked youtube video. Then by all means, continue to do so.

O and 1 other thing, Just because you have a haswell CPU, that means absolutely nothing. BF3 is a GPU bound game meaning that even sandybridge and ivybridge CPUs do not place any sort of bottleneck on the GPUs they are bundled with. Its why my  sandybridge laptop easily outpaces a 8670M in BF3. My videocard is simply alot more powerful.

You can compare benchmarks on all GPU's and CPU's here:

If you want to be running games like Crysis 2, and BF 3 on ultra. You need to be looking at laptops with at least Nvidia 660Ms/760ms or higher. Or an Amd radeon 7870M / 8870M .

the s was a mistake ignore those.

But keep in mind even with those, you may end up dialing back AA.

Please do some reading at this website http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-780M-SLI.93346.0.html

And on the righthand side there, are mobility cards listed. As well as desktop counterparts to give you an idea of where those cards fall in the list.

And determine what *you* as a gamer want. And from what I'm reading you want to buy the latest games, bring it home, turn the settings to max and then start playing. So.. I would be looking at laptops with Nvidia 680M/780M or AMD Radeon 7970M /8970M.

Another thing to remember is this month AMD is releaseing there new video cards which will bring new mobility cards to the market so you may want to wait on AMD's latest offerings to bring prices in check. (Nvidia is very proud of there 780M)
