This is my first post so apologies if its in the wrong place I was passed over the link to this forum.

I have an integrated graphics (Intel HD 4000) and dedicated in my laptop as well as the AMD Radeon 7670m. However I have recently installed a new game well within my system requirements however it keeps crashing due to insufficient graphics capability. I think by the looks of it the game is just trying to use my Intel card, so I went onto the catalyst control centre and switched the game to "high performance" however the game ran slower and would still crash within a couple of minutes. I then went onto to device manager and manually disabled my intel. However when I went back onto the game I could barely see anything, it was extremely slow and just crashed. Its like the card is not being used but I can't work out why. Can anyone help at all?

- I have also gone onto my device manager and checked to see if drivers were up to date and they said that they were.

Thanks in advance

I thought my Dxdiag might help (I'm not too hot with computers either):

If whatever game you are trying to play is  OGL ...then by default your computer will use the Intel driver. Do you have issues with other games? What game gives you problems.?

Apologies for the delayed response I have been away. Its when sims 3, I don't play any other games to know. Not really helpful is?

I think the issue is that its not using my AMD I just don't know how to get it to use it. If I disable my Intel the game won't even run

Have you tried to update the drivers? If so where did you get them? Has the computer always done this? I would use system restore to a point before you started experiencing these issues. Try that and report back?

It hasn't always done that. However I do have mroe expanision packs on the base game than I have before. I wiped my laptop recently and started again when this first started happening. However it carried on happening. I got my drivers from dell after doing a system analysis on their site.

Did you restore from a image? If you restored from disk, then run Windows Update...install the relevent updates from the 'recommended' or 'optional' offerings (don't install any graphics drivers). It sounds as if the Dell 'switchable' function is not working. Try going into the bios and change the graphics from 'dynamic' to 'fixed' or 'static'. That makes your computer use the AMD graphics.

I used windows recovery and restored my laptop to its orginal point. I disabled the Intel card again and loaded the game which barely functioned. A warning message then came up saying there is either no AMD driver installed or its not functioning properly.

I got the drivers from the dell website after doing their system analysis to get the right driver. I have previously tried from the AMD website and that wasn't right either. How can I find out what driver I actually need?
