The problem I have is that using the 2 cards in surround mode, it only allows the 3 big monitors to work, and disables the USB one. I can run the 4 together without the surround mode, but the problem is that reduces the frame rates a lot.

Because of this I decided to change the cards.

The problem is which one I can buy that allows me to connect the 4 monitors in eyefinity mode or 3 of them in eyefinity mode and the other one stand alone, or I can run the 4 of them in stand alone mode at a very good frame rate.

Okay, so i just got a pretty sweet bonus from work and i wanna buy a new card and i was looking at the Asus HD7950 3GB, I currently have a HD6770 1GB. My system specs are AMD FX 4100, 8GB G.skills 1600MHz RAM , Asus M5A97 Pro Mobo. I was wondering if it was worth the money at the moment. I play some of the latest DX11 games at 1920 x 1080. I want to have AA and Anistropic Filtering as high as possibe and i beive this requies more RAM in the GPU hence the 3GB. I plan to upgrade to the AMD FX 8350 CPU with a H100i but the now is it worth getting the 7950. and if i do get it will the upgrade to cpu also increase performance.

Thanks alot in advance

Hi

i recently had the 6970m gpu replaced under warranty. I wanted to check the temps via GPUZ. I noticed idle it runs about 55-60c. However under full load with fans cranking on 3d mark06 I see gpu die #2 and #3 reach about 83c and sometimes even as high as 86c. Is this safe?

I tried a game left 4 dead 2 and the two dies seemed to max at about 82c. Also why are die# 2 and 3 always a few celdius hotter than die 1

Cheers

Buongiorno,

<http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/legacy/Pages/legacy-radeonaiw-vista64.aspx>

Come posso risolvere?

When in games such as Crysis 3 or Battlefield 3 I noticed that the graphics when moving or looking around move a bit out of position. However when not moving or looking around graphics look normal. It's only when moving. Plus i'm getting coil whine in games too.I have everything in CCC to default and nothing is overclocked. I have also tried installing latest ati drivers 13.4 and now running beta 13.5. Problem exists no matter what.Wondering if this has to do with the HD 7990 being so new???OS: Windows 8Motherboard: MSI Big Bang XPower IICPU i7 3970xPSU TX850MThanks for taking the time to read this.

I just bought an HP Envy h8-1520t with a AMD Radeon HD 8570 graphics card.

I have a computer tech friend who has removed the Windows 8 that was installed on this and replaced it with Windows 7. Now the computer wont use the graphics card. It claims there is no driver for this.

My friend has looked for the driver for this online at many places, including AMD and HP, but either the driver is not the right one, it doesnt work, or is only for Windows 8.

We cant find any information on the specs of this item online, and HP and AMD are no help, they just keep referring us to "online drivers" on their websites.

AMD website doesnt even list a driver for this.

My questions are:

Can this item be used with Windows 7?

If yes, then where do we find the right driver?

If no, is there a similar/compatible item that it can be replaced with?

Hello,

I have a Radeon HB6450 1GB DDR3 graphics card. My monitor is plugged into the VGA port. I recently purchased a projector (BENQ MW 519) which I plugged into the HDMI port.

When turned on the computer, it went through the bios boot with both the monitor and projector showing the screen(s). After passing the bios, the monitor went black and the projector indicated that it had and HDMI source but displayed nothing.

I want to have the monitor as the primary display (via the VGA output) and use the projector as a secondary (duplicate screen) output on a casual basis.

I presume that what is happening is that the graphics cards is giving the HDMI output primacy and perhaps something with the resolution is preventing either one displaying.

I can not configure this in Catalyst Control Centre / Vision Engine Control Centre as it only sees one monitor when I plug in the VGA monitor and neither screen displays anything when I have both plugged in.

Regards,

Officially, the best card supported for dual graphics with an A10 is the HD 6670. When the platform came out reviewers stated that HD 7700 series was incompatible. However, in the past few months reports have started to surface that DG with the HD 7700 series had in fact become possible, perhaps following a driver update.

Two users have reported success along with proof of their results here: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180080

The driver name is "AMD Radeon HD 7660D + 7700 Dual Graphics" and returns a few hits from a Google search, one of them from GPU-Z dated April 12th: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/v8cr9/

My question is, is 7700 series now supported for dual graphics with an AMD A10, officially or unofficially? I'm wondering because I'm thinking of adding a fanless HD 7750 to my HTPC build and if it can still benefit from the APU that would be awesome.

I have a hd radeon 7970, and have been using it with 1 monitor for a while now. I just recently upgraded to 4 monitors and am trying to install them but can't seem to get it right.

I have one attacted via the standard white plug that you need to screw in to the port (forgive my lack of computer knowledge), and 2 more are connected through the mini display port. I dont yet have a cable to connect the 4th one but I'm not worried about that right now.

Basically they work fine when I use the connections seperately, but when I attach everything at once, they don't. So if I have only the white cable plugged in, it works. But if I then attach both the monitors connected through the mini display port, only those two will show, and the one connected through the white cord will not show..... and vice versa. What do I need to do so all the monitors show at once?

I recently bought an HDMI to vga converter for my RADEON 5570 gpu. it was working with the drivers that came with my computer, but when i installed the new CCC program, it caused the monitors to start flashing. it works when i have 1 monitor in at a time, but not with both.

also, when i first boot up(with both monitors) it displays, but with 5-6 seconds into the boot, (it normally boots up in 7.5, with my ssd) it starts to flash. Thanks in advance.

I upgraded my computer from a HIS Radeon 4890 to a HIS Radeon 7750. Unfortunately, the 7750 always has graphic glitches (occasional pixels even on desktop), and will generally stop and recover a few times even without any major workload. If I replace the 7750 with my 4890, there are absolutely no problems.

I asked this in the HIS forums and they said that so long as the glitches do not occur in safe mode, it's not a hardware problem.

Hey all, I am new to the forms and am hoping someone might be able to point me in the right directions.

I recently bought a new computer case (just the case) and installed my parts into it. Upon first boot up my computer did not load the OS and give a disk boot failure (odd considering it just switched cases). After dealing with that issue, reformatting, reinstalling windows, and finally reinstalling drivers I found that my dual monitor set up would no longer detect my second display (from minidisplay port (via minidisplay>displayport and adisplay port to DVI converter (passive))).

The set up worked fine before my reformat.

All other computer components work fine and games run as they did before the case swap/reformat.

Both monitors worked fine before reformat.

Both monitors work fine independently on main DVI connection.

I am running a Radeon 7950 Sapphire with a Phenom x6 1100T processor, Gigabyte MA990FX-UD3, in a HAF XB case.

I have looked in/defaulted my bios, rolled back drivers to 12.10 (what i was using before reformat I believe) and installed the new beta driver (13.5). The monitor is NOT showing up under device manger which is leading me to believe that the display port is no longer functioning? However I do not know what would have caused it to stop.

Does anyone have any clue what is going on? Let me know if more info is required about my set up

Thank you in advance.

I have a Radeon HD 5450, and can only get stereo output over HDMI. I've tried the drivers that come with Windows (AMD High Definition Audio Device 9/21/2012, 7.12.0.7712), the ones with the latest Catalyst 13.4 (3/1/2013, 7.12.0.7714) and ones from Realtek (6/4/2012, 6.0.1.6650). I've disabled my motherboard's audio.

Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.

My receiver only has optical in, so I'm sending the HDMI to box that takes HDMI in and has optical SPDIF as well as HDMI out. The box has a switch to set Audio EDID, and I've put the switch on 5.1. When I plug my DVD player into it, I get surround sound no problem.

But in Windows, when I go to the sound control planel -> "playback devices" -> "HDMI Output" -> "configure", the only option for audio channels is Stereo. In CCC, in the audio tab, it says "your device does not support audio. Select another audio device from the list above."

What else should I try?

MonInfo says my Windows machine is receiveing the following EDID:

Last night (5/12/13) my graphics card was working fine. Absolutely fine. Then, this morning (5/13/13) I turned my computer on and... nothing. PSU fan was spinning, heat sink fan was spinning, and GPU fan was spinning, but very loudly. The screen was black. I tried restarting. Nothing. I tried unplugging the cable and plugging in back in. Nothing. So then I decided I ought to use the integrated graphics and that's when I saw a dialogue box. It said that Windows had failed to load and that it needed to be repaired. I let it do its thing and it said it repaired successfully. When Windows loaded, I got a notification pop-up saying that "The Device Driver succesfully installed (AMD Radeon HD series)" and that was odd to me. So I updated the driver and restarted to see if that would help. Nope. I then tried reseating it. Still NOPE. So now I am at a loss. I will post DxDiag info here.

Hi all. I just got a Gigabyte 7990 GV-R799D5-6GD-B (one of the new ones, not the old Powercolor Devil or Asus ones).

At load, one of the gpus heats up very quickly and then overheats to 101C, then throttles down to 500mhz bringing the temperature down to about 99C, then few seconds later up to 101 again, rinse, repeat. The 2nd GPU on the card is hovering around 75C and is stable. They are running stock frequencies and I'm forcing the fans to stay at 100%, but nothing helps. It even overheats with the side of the case off and a portable AC unit blowing on it. I'm assuming this is abnormal behavior and need an RMA, but just wanted to check for any tips before I sent it back.

Gigabyte 7990 GV-R799D5-6GD-B

Asus P6T

Core i7-920

Seasonic 1200w psu

Plenty of cooling in the case, plus still happens with a/c blowing right on it.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit- I've tried both 13.4 and 13.5b2. Same results on each.

I have a HP Pavilion P7-1227C with the AMD A10-5700 CPU which has AMD Radeon HD 7660D APU graphics, also have AMD Radeon HD 6670 2GB PCIe GPU installed. I have been running dual graphics since I got this system about 7 months ago. For the past couple weeks I have been having trouble booting up. Sometimes after a long wait the monitor will show the login screen, other times it will not come up at all. On those occassions I have to move my connection to the MB, disable the discrete graphics via bios, move back to the video card reboot. Then I can reboot, change the bios again and boot up in dual graphics. This all seems to coincide with a Windows Update installed on my system on 4/27/13

Hi,
I am having some issues with my PC and would really appreciate any insight!
First off, my setup:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 555, 3rd core unlocked; CPU-Z says it runs at 3.2Ghz under full load.
Memory: 16Gb DDR3
Video: Two Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 cards in Crossfire; the 2nd card was added maybe a 18 months or so after getting the first one; this goes to my receiver and my TV running at 1920x1080
Mobo: ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3 with 2 2.0 PCI-e slots (16x, 4x)
HD: My main one, where my Steam files are, is a WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200rpm
OS: Windows 7
Catalyst Control Center (CCC): v13.4; hardware info shows both the primary and linked adapter (primary running at PCI-e 2.0 at 16x, the linked card running at 4x)

I just updated from CCC 12.4 (or 12.8?) and I have had Crossfire enabled every since installing the second card. With CCC 12.4, and every previous version of CCC I've had, about 60% of the time when I booted up from shutdown, I'd have to go back into CCC and re-enable Crossfire; for some reason it would be disabled on restart more often than not. I've only had 13.4 for a day now and I have not yet shut down my PC.
My main issue is basically I have never really noticed any difference from running in Crossfire vs running one card when gaming (Crysis 2, BF3, Portal 2, others). I think I am fooling myself into seeing a difference, but sometimes I would start up my system, start gaming (and it seemed normal), then remember that I didn't check if Crossfire had been disabled so I would recheck and see it was disabled and so I would renable it, and then go back to gaming and not really notice a difference. Does that make sense? And sometimes it would even seem worse.
So I bought Hitman Absolution on Steam (not pirated) and noticed that it had benchmarking which I've never done. These are my in-game settings:

Resolution: 1920x1080
Fullscreen checked
Refresh Rate 60
VSync checked
MSAA 2x
Exclusive Fullscreen checked
Aspect Auto
Quality: Custom
Shadow Medium
Texture Quality Normal
Texture Filter Anisotropic 2x
Reflections Medium
FXAA checked
Global Illumination unchecked
Tessellation unchecked
Level f Detail Medium
Depth of Field Medium
SSAO Normal
Bloom Normal

With my previous version of CCC my FPS averaged around 24.8, but I didn't write the exact numbers down. I went to the AMD website and saw a new CCC version and the new CAP with Hitman Absolution. I uninstalled all previous CAPs, and ran the 13.4 installer to remove my previous version of CCC. Then I rebooted, made sure display drivers were all uninstalled, and installed 13.4. I ran benchmarks with Crossfire on and off, then installed the new CAP and ran benchmarks with Crossfire on and off (each three times, "A", "B", and "C"). Here's my avg FPS:

Crossfire Enabled, no CAP
A. 26.3fps
B. 28.13fps
C. 27.8fps
Crossfire Disabled, no CAP
1. 29.9fps
2. 30.5fps
3. 30.5fps
Crossfire Disabled, CAP installed
1. 30.3fps
2. 30.3fps
3. 30.3fps
Crossfire Enabled, CAP installed
1. 16.4fps
2. 16.3fps
3. 10.4fps!

So it almost looks like my best settings were with Crossfire disabled and no CAP. So....Why? I mean, if I enable Crossfire and I do what AMD suggests and use the latest CCC version with the lates CAP, I get 10-16fps! I am not too technically inclined, so I was thinking I either have a faulty 2nd card (although CCC says it's linked) or my 4x PCI-e slot is slowing everything down, or I really don't know.
If you have any ideas/suggestions please let me know!

Thanks!
