any suggetions

Something relatively new has started happening when I watch movies. It always starts out perfect, but after a few minutes, the video starts to get choppy and the audio stays fine but the video gets out of sync. The weird business is when I rewind 5 secs, it puts it back right into alignment and it looks normal again for a few minutes till it starts doing it again. Another thing to note is that I play video games, and while I don't have anything recording any metrics, I haven't noticed anything slowing down graphics wise.

I thought it was the video player (Zoom Player Free), but I tried upgrading it and even switching to VLC and WMP, but the problem remains. Then I tried updating the drivers, but that didn't work. Then I switched to the beta drivers. All the while, I've been constantly restarting. 

Running the AMD System Monitor, I can tell you that when the lag spikes happen during video, the Memory Speed and usage go all the way to the 90-100%, but I don't know why. Also, the GPU temp stays an average 33C, which I assume is a fairly average temp.

This has happened with different versions of the Catalyst driver, on new and old installs of windows.

I do not have the card or my processor overclocked.

I noticed a problem using ArcScene 10.1 3D TIN Surfaces. It seems to be a kwnow problem, but no solution is coming from Arcgis before launching 10.2 version. Also it seems clear to be graphics card related, cause all people reporting this problem are using cards from ATI.

An user from Arcgis formus discovered how to solve the problem using driver 8.670.0.0 instead of Catalist 12.1.

Cause of my work, its vital to me to use this software so I'd use this old driver, either I am not able to find it in drivers download section.

Can anybody help me?

Driver: 13.6 beta - been using the beta to hopefully solve some weird flickering problems in Windows.

Issue: Sometimes, the screen goes completely blank, as if the display has lost its HDMI connection. In a matter of seconds, everything returns back to normal. How can I tell if this was due to a driver crash or whether this was due to a weird hardware (power?) issue?

What may be helpful - some way to get the date and time of the last driver crash. Is this information available in windows somewhere?

The problem came with the update 13.5

AMD please solve the problem, it is impossible to work.

I have monitored the temps and nothing goes over the recommended. For some reason it won't let me upload the dump file, but i'm sure you've seen a million of 'em.

I would love for this issue to be a thing of the past.

So i have issues with Red orchestra 2 / rising storm dispite while the FPS is good about 80-120 the game stutters/lags/ has hiccups the screen stops for half a second all the time.I have asked solution froms tripwire interactive forums whitout results and i have all the newest drivers installed so is this a driver problems or something else and i have tried with another gpu too and that was a nvidia egtx 275 and that card is way more worse than 7870 but the game works well with that nvidia so please help me to get rid of this issue

Diablo 3 was working perfectly as of yesterday.  This morning I downloaded the latest driver for this particular video card.  Now there are horizontal flickering black lines that scroll down the page continously when the game is running.  Can anyone help?

Surely this card should be able to play medium-high on all 2012 right upto 2015 games.

All latest windows updates, running on drivers 13.6 beta's also another thing is this is a 1gb card and everything like gpuz, dxdiag, can you run it are all saying i have 748mb vram which isn't right.

I first hooked up with an HDMI cable. The black bars were about an inch thick and surrounded the top, bottom, left and right. I went into CCC and found the Overscan feature and slid the bar all the way up (to 0%). This removed the black border on the BOTTOM of the screen, and reduced the other ones to about a centimeter thick.

The above scenario is now where I stand, regardless of what I try. I have now tried: uninstalling the monitor's drivers and plugging it in as a generic PnP monitor; switching out the HDMI cable for a DVI cable.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I have been scouring the internet but unfortunately most people give the overscan solution and that seems to fix it for everyone. When I get home I'm going to try using the HDMI-to-miniDVI connector that came with the video card. If that doesn't fix it then I am totally at a loss!

One other thing I can point out is that the black borders appear to be "unpowered" black, not just the monitor's black display. What I mean is that when I scale the image down, there is a distinct border showing the "maximum" fill I can get on the flat panel (which terminates about a centimeter from the edge).

I built a new system with ASRock motherboard, Intel i5-33750K and my nice MSI R7950 Twin Frozr.

During the install I kept things simple and only ran one monitor (Asus PA248Q, 1920x1200) off the DVI port.

Yesterday I moved the system to my study and attempted to install a second monitor (Asus VW224 1680x1050) as well.

Well, the R7950 has only one DVI port, and since my PA248Q has other connections (HDMI and DisplaPort), I decided to attach the VW224 to the DVI port and the PA248 to the DisplayPort (ASUS included a DisplayPort cable and MSI included a miniDP to DP converter).

THis does not seem to work. My system posts on the VW224 (DVI port), but then as soon as Windows have to start, the monitor goes blank. THe PA248 never seems to get a signal and never comes out of sleep.

If I remove the DisplayPort Connection, my system posts and all is fine.

I see the same behaviour if I attach the DisplayPort cable to the onboard graphics. If I attach the two monitors one to the onboard DVI and one to the DVI on the R7950, they work, but of course this is not good, since CCC only sees one monitor then.

Any advice? I'm heading out to the stores to get some more cables and do more experiments, but the tl;dr is that it seems I have an issue driving my DisplayPort capable monitor from a DisplayPort.

Was running Radeon HD 6870, while playing Bioshock Infinite  screen went whitish blue with no warning, computer unresponsive.

On reboot, there was no post. Removed card and booted with onboard graphics. Was planning on upgrading GFX card and motherboard anyway, so bought Radeon 7970 & Asus P8Z77-V motherboard. 

After installing new card and motherboard the card problem is still present. No post with graphics card, onboard graphics working.

Card fans and logo light are working.

Setting the grphics device in BIOS to PCI does not work, nor does setting it to auto detect. disabling the onboard graphics does not fix the problem.

There is no signal with either DVI or HDMI cables.

Could it be the PSU? Edit: Have just swapped in a Corsair GS700W PSU and still the same issue

CPU tested with Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool, everything passed, but it reports no card with the 7970 card installed. Same with the old 6870:

I applied all of the latest drivers for this graphics card but am still getting low quality graphics -- almost looks like it is 32 bit.  I could not see 64 bit as an option on any of the quality settings in the "AMD VISION Engine Control Center" program.

When I boot my system, I notice a green screen with the motherboard logo and a tinted green screen with the Windows 8 logo after.

I am curious if anyone has suggestions for how I can troubleshoot this?

We just bought a new CPU with a Radeon HD 7750 graphics card. The desktop shows up fine on our monitors but will not display on the HDTV. The Catalyst Control Center finds the TV and the TV finds the source, but all I get is a black screen.

Can anyone walk me through what the problem is?

Now I've tried the 12.6 and 12.8 drivers, as well as 13.4 and 13.6 beta drivers. full uninstall with driver sweeper/driver fusion in between. surely done over 10 installs now. using gpu-z, I can see that the GPU is working at max when the games are running.

 What could be causing this performance loss?

edit: oh yea and I'm running vista 64bit with the latest updates and service packs, I don't think any more info about the pc should be needed since everything worked great before the update? so it gotta be something with the drivers

The Card is drawing unecessarily way too much power from the wall. The Powertune option doesn't seem to have any effect on this particular Card (It's a 7870 Tahiti LE rather then a 7870 Pitcairn)

The monitor doesn't "fill out" completely. There is about half an inch on the left an right side aswell as a little bit less than that on top and bottom that wont fill out.

Been in touch with Samsung and tried all their recommendations and since it worked perfectly with my girlfriends laptop hooked up, Samsung just droped it so I thought I'd try here aswell.

I'm looking for a solution that I can make a second virtual monitor/screen if you using ati cards(hd6870).

I want this to use it with DCS A-10C with the app DCS iControl on my iPad. 

The Nvidia users can add a virtual monitor. I also can add a second virtual in windows but AMD Catalyst doesn't recognize it.
